Are you using the old template from the old version? If so, you will have to upgrade the template. Start with the default template that comes with the new version and modify it for your needs. If that doesn't work, contact me via the "Contact" link above.

Question about databases and upgrading. We recently upgraded from an older version of splash screen to the current version. The issue we are having is that users can no longer hit "I agree" on the splash screen. We do customize the template, and everything worked before. We simply upgraded to allow for a more opaque splash screen. I'm hoping for your thoughts or help on that. I look forward to hearing from you!

I've had the same luck on surveys lately. Several fails like this. Also, I have had a couple of surveys that said, "Fill out the survey and get a $10 or $20 gift card," and I fill out the survey and don't get the card. (I've had several where I get the card, and I know they are legit and not scams, because they are from businesses where I've bought things, etc.)

There was one survey recently that failed on the last page of a 15-minute survey. That really pissed me off! My electric company offers $2 to $3 off on their bill for taking a 15-minute survey. Wow. $8 an hour. They really value my time.

I take a lot of surveys. Since I've worked for companies that give surveys, I know how much influence they have. I've seen executives get into huge arguments defending a single survey answer from a single respondent that they agreed with, and it's pretty amazing. A lot of times, when a company is doing stupid things, its employees will use survey answers they agree with to leverage management away from bad decisions.

But I'm also like you. They get one opportunity to waste my time. I opened a survey recently, and the first question was something like, "Thinking about the last 12 months, describe the percentage of time you spent on the following activities" and then gave a list of things like, "balancing your checkbook, running banking errands, reconciling credit card statement," etc. I was like, "WTF? Percentage of time?" and I closed the web page. It wasn't worth $20 to figure that crap out.

The adult template has a "Enter" link to go to the page. You can change that to "Close".

More specifically, the code you would use is:
<a onclick="setsplash();showcontent();return false;" href="#">Close</a>

This plugin is great! I'm using it for an optional signup box: is there a way to add a "Close" button, or to give users the option to click off to get where they were originally going?

Thanks!
Alex

Yes, it is pricy and not for people on a super tight budget. But if you're going to use this for work, I think you can justify it (and write it off).

What I really love about it is that you can keep switching drives to bigger ones, even one at a time, whenever you need more space. Other RAIDs do not allow this type of configuration. And because it's also a NAS, you can connect to it from all your computers and laptops (Macs and Windows).

That is a great review. I've been eyeing a Drobo for years. But dang... $1100 for a backup is still pretty pricy. I may have to take the plunge... I really want to consolidate all the drives I have.
