Google Apps For Business No Longer Free
As of December 6, 2012, Google Apps for Business no longer has an option for the free account. If you already have a free account, you are grandfathered for now and will continue to enjoy the benefits for free.
In case you don’t know what Google Apps is, it is a set of a bunch of cloud based apps including gmail, Google drive, calendar, docs, sheets and slides. Until a few days ago, when you signed up for a free account, you got all of these apps for free. Now, it will cost you $5 per month for these features. You can still get a free individual account that includes gmail and Google drive, but not the other apps.
I guess the bad economy is even affecting Google to have to charge for their services. Not. Luckily for me, I signed up for it before the change. Let’s see how long that lasts.
