In my constant search for good sushi, I decided to try out a tiny sushi place in Little Tokyo on 1st Street called Sushi Enya. Your expectations are automatically forced to be high when the word “sushi” is in the name of the place.
Although it is a sushi place, the atmosphere here is more like a happy hour drinking place with happy sushi chefs and waitstaff. As for the sushi, I decided to go crazy and order a bunch of stuff ala carte.
As you can see from the pictures below, the sushi is prepared properly and the fish portions are generous and fresh.
The prices are not outrageous but certainly don’t come here if you’re looking for bargains. My only complaint was that even though the service was good, the hot green tea was barely lukewarm. That’s something that the waitress should have been aware of without being told. The tea was being served from a termo-pitcher so it needs to be checked periodically for temperature.
The sushi here is great but it is very small so don’t come here when it’s busy or you will be waiting to be seated. I’ll definitely come back here again to try more sushi again.
