Godaddy Apologizes For Outage

As you may have heard, or witnessed yourself, the entire Godaddy network was down on September 10th from 10am PST to 4pm PST, according the news reports. That means anybody that hosts their website on Godaddy (like this site) or have email servers on Godaddy was down and out.

Although one hacker claimed credit for this crash, Godaddy has stated that they were not hacked and that the problem has been recognized and fixed and no information was lost or stolen.

To try to make up for this mess, Godaddy has issued an in-store credit to every account for $6.99. Why $6.99 and not $7, I’m not sure. I guess saying a penny on millions of accounts adds up to a lot of money.
