Takao Sushi Restaurant Quick Review

After realizing that I’ve been going to the same restaurants, I decided to try Takao a few doors down from SugarFish in Brentwood. Takao is not in the same strip mall so the parking is in the back of the building.

The place is cozy with a lot of tables for 2 people and the required sushi bar. You can see a picture of the interior on their website. Since it’s my first time here, I decided to take a table and order the Assorted Sushi (~$30). This comes with a small salad, miso soup, appetizer and a desert. That’s a lot of stuff for $30.

The sashimi appetizer was fresh but I wished the ponzu sauce was a little stronger. The nigiri sushi was fresh and prepared properly with a good selection.

For desert, my friend picked the mochi ice cream, and I picked a fruit selection as shown below.

All in all, you get a nice spread for the price. The service was excellent and they brought new cups of hot green tea just as it was almost empty. I wish they had service like this at SugarFish. I will be going back to checkout the rest of their menu.
