Morinoya Japanese Restaurant Mini Review – Part 3

Morinoya is on my regular rotation of places to go when I don’t want to think too hard about where to go. Having previously tried and disappointed by their zaru soba ($7.50), I decided to give it one more try. As you can see above, the presentation is good and this time, I didn’t find the dipping sauce to be too sweet. I’m not sure if they changed the formula for the sauce or my palette is fluctuating, but I’m going to guess that it’s the former.

In any case, I was happy with the soba this time around and decided to try something new and ordered their steamed vegetables with ponzu and sesame dipping sauce ($6.75) as shown below. Since I’m trying to lose some weight, this dish is certainly healthy for me but it didn’t fill me up enough. Next time, I’ll have to order more food.

This restaurant will stay on my rotation and I’m going to try the zaru soba again next time to see if the dipping sauce change was in my head or their formula.
