Amazon to Compete with Paypal
Paypal (owned by eBay) is the standard for online payment systems. Who could compete head-to-head with Paypal? Apparently, Amazon thinks they can with their hundreds of millions of users that regularly use Amazon to buy just about everything possible.
According to Login Amazon, not only will users be able to sign-up for a new website using their Amazon credentials, but use their Amazon account to pay for products and services too. For the users, that’s one less username and password they have to remember for a new website.
For developers, perhaps more users will sign-up because it’s easier. It’s no different from using Facebook credentials to sign-up for a website, except you can also make payments. The Login Amazon API is ready for websites, iOS and Android apps to start putting it to work.
