Kula Revolving Sushi on Sawtelle Quick Review

The Kula in Little Tokyo downtown is very popular so when they announced that they were opening one in West LA on Sawtelle, it was great news.

In case you are not aware, basically Kula is like the fast food version of sushi with a revolving strip going around the entire restaurant where the sushi is placed. You simply pickup whatever you want off this conveyor belt contraption.

The good news: So far, all the branches are consistent in quality and of course, all the sushi is $2 per plate.

The bad news: You get what you pay for. However, you get just about as much as you could possibly expect for $2.

Don’t come here for the ambiance, interaction with the chef, or large portions. What you get is just like any good fast food chain: It’s cheap, fast and consistent. Does this formula work for sushi. You betcha.
